Your raw genetic data is never uploaded to our servers.
What the app does with your DNA file
When you import a raw DNA file, DNA Is Mine reads, parses and interprets it entirely on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. The file is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
The original file is not copied or kept. After analysis the app saves only summary statistics (such as marker counts and genome build) and the genotypes of the specific markers in its knowledge base that your report needs.
Where your report is stored
Reports are stored only on your device, protected by your device's data protection, and excluded from iCloud and device backups. You can delete a single report or all local data at any time in Settings; deletion is immediate and permanent.
No account, analytics or advertising
The app has no account system. It contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or other third-party SDKs, and DNA content is never written to logs. On Mac, the app runs in Apple's App Sandbox without permission to make network connections.
Ask My DNA (on-device AI)
Ask My DNA uses Apple's on-device foundation model (Apple Intelligence). Your questions, genotypes, findings and the AI's answers are processed only on your device. They are never sent to us, to a cloud AI provider or to Private Cloud Compute, and conversations are not saved.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details and purchases never include genetic data. Restoring purchases is handled by Apple.
Research links
Findings link to publications on PubMed or doi.org. Opening a link visits that website; the link contains no genetic data.
This website
dnaismine.com loads no third-party scripts, fonts, trackers or advertising, and uses no analytics services such as Google Analytics.
To understand which parts of the site are useful, it counts a few anonymous events on our own server — page views, FAQ opens and App Store button clicks — tagged only with the page, the section and the language. No cookies, IP addresses, device or visitor identifiers are stored, and nothing is linked across pages or visits. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted.
If you switch language, a functional cookie remembers your choice for one year.
Children
DNA Is Mine is not directed to children under 13.
